I’ve had my eye on Illamasqua for a long long time but I’ve never placed an order. Why? Well there wasn’t anything that I fancied enough to try and I as you can imagine, there’s no counter in Exeter so I didn’t much fancy spending that amount of money on a brand I’d never tried or seen in the flesh. All of that changed with the new Art of Darkness Collection. I wanted pretty much all of it. I couldn’t have all of it, but I decided to get a couple of bits from the collection because, well, I just couldn’t resist. So from the Art of Darkness Collection I got the Powdered Metal in Ether and the Pigment in Ore, and from the main line I bought the Sheer Lipgloss in Lily-Rose.
So lets have a little look at it all.
Here’s the Sheer Lipgloss in Lily Rose:
I forgot mascara, forgive me. Well. This looks gorgeous in the swatch on my hand, I don’t love it so much on my lid unfortunately. It’s patchy, you can see the individual grains of glitter if you look closely and it doesn’t blend terribly well. I must admit this was slapped on with little care for the purposes of this picture so I’ll have to have a play with it with more care and some primer because it’s very sparkly and the colour is lovely.
Saving the best til last, Powedered Metal in Ether:
Now this is a beautiful product. I’ve tried it on my cupid’s bow, cheekbones, eye highlight and I just love it. It’s such a gentle soft glow and being a pale gold, it doesn’t add any colour on me really, just beautiful glow. Highly recommended.
So put it all together and what have you got?
Well, nothing exciting. But I must stress this was a very quickly put together face and I’m looking forward to a proper play over the next few days.
