After my recent post about Clinique Happy in Bloom where I mentioned I wanted to try out Clinique Aromatics, the very aptly named Perfume Fairy got in touch and very kindly provided me with a bottle to try.
What can I tell you? It is everything I hoped it would be! It reminds me very much of the Christian La Croix C’est La Fete.
It’s a beautiful perfume, but I can tell you now, much like C’est La Fete it’s a love it or hate it perfume and if you don’t like patchouli this will not be one for you.
Aromatics was launched in 1971 and there’s a reason it’s still going strong, this is a classic. Oakmoss, White Jasmine, Chamomile and Patchouli, all my favourite things.
Its gorgeous. It’s not a light scent, it’s woody and warm but it’s not the kind of scent that overpowers a room when you enter it, well I suppose it could be if you were heavy handed, be careful! When you first spray it on it’s quiet astringent smelling, if you try this don’t let this put you off, ssniff again in an hour for a warm scent. It’s beautiful! I’m in love with this perfume and I’m so happy I’ve tried it now and have it in my collection. Thank you Perfume Fairy!
Which leads me neatly onto telling you a bit about the fab site that is http://www.perfumefairy.co.uk/. At first glance and primarily it’s a perfume price comparison site. Find the perfume you like and it’ll bring up a list of retailers and the prices… so thats handyfor finding the cheapest sellers! But there’s a lot more to this site if you look around, there’s a blog, links to samples, discount vouchers, links to classic perfume ads, reviews and perfume guides. Well worth a look before you make any fragrance purchases!
