It’s hard to believe that Clinique Aromatics Elixir is older than me. I know it’s not the only fragrance on the market that’s stood the test of time, but it is one I love. Aromatics Elixir isn’t for everyone, I’m a patchouli lover so I love it but I know it’s certainly not for everyone. For those who kind of like it but find it just too heavy, read on!
To celebrate the Aromatics Elixir 40th Anniversary Clinique commissioned a limited edition tributeto the original which promises a fresher, smoother, and more modern interpretation, Aromatics Elixir Reserve.
Rose, jasmine, myrrh and patchouli notes are cleaner, lighter and with a “contemporary transparency”, orange flower absolute and peach notes have been added and it is apparently subtler.
As a lover as the “shouty” original I’m really interested to try this out. It sounds beautiful, but I’m a strong fragrance lover and find subtle usually gets lost on me in no time…but you know, it’s Clinique Aromatics Elixir, of course I want to try it!
But it’s not just the scent that appeals, it’s the packaging. You have the choice of amber tinted, brown glass bottles embossed with a sculpture of the Aromatics Elixir flower with a decanter style stopper or there’s a solid version which comes as a pendant, which you could of course just pop in your bag!
In addition to the two Ltd Edition Reserve products there will also be a Ltd Edition bottle housing the original fragrance.
Alas, much as I’d love to get my hands on the Aromatics Elixir Reserve, it’s out of my price range at this current time so I will have to just look at the pretty pictures, but for anyone interested in buying, you can buy all three products in Harrods now. The Reserve items at selected counters from the 7th October, and the Ltd Edition bottle of the original fragrance nationwide also from the 7th.
