Buying make up has taken a back seat recently as I decided my style could do with a little revamp. I found myself slipping far too comfortably into middle aged Mum who shops at Next in the last few years so it was time to take a look at myself and pull myself out of the rut.
Sooooo I’ve been shopping. I am no fashionista, but I have bought clothes and jewellery that suit me, suit my style and tastes and after years and years of avoiding it, it turns out I LOVE Topshop. I have to admit I find it incredibly over priced, but I’ve searched and searched and I’ve not found anywhere else that does the things I’m after quite so well. So yeah, here are some of the things I’ve been buying lately, starting with clothes, and ending with shoes and amazing Jewel Heritage jewellery.
Forever Angels Vest at Topshop £20 (not available online atm)
I love loose fit racer back tops, with jeans or leggings, or a combination, aka Jeggings. I must have ten of these, most of them grey or black, I don’t do a lot of colour.
Because both of these have drop sleeves I bought a bandeau to go underneath. I think it’s one of these Topshop Acid Wash Bandeau‘s £8.
This top is one of those that looks pretty dull on the hanger but something about it called my name, on it is stunning. I wear with a black spaghetti strapped cami underneath for decency as this is completely transparent, but its gorgeous.
I did buy and amazing pair of leggings, but they are just grey and I’m wearing them so I can’t show you.
I did buy this jacket though.
Love this! It’s a biker jacket with a twist, it’s navy, it’s quilted, it’s lightweight, it’s perfect for covering up this Spring/Summer. It is however, ridiculously expensive and I’m not sure what possessed me. But now I’ve got it, I do love it and I’m glad I have it!
Boots. I’ve been umming and ahhing over treating myself to some Jeffrey Campbell Litas for ages now, but two things were putting me off, firstly the price, at £125 ish, they are a lot of money for something I wasn’t sure I’d wear too often, and secondly, I wasn’t sure about the front of the shoe, I felt that perhaps they were a little too clowny. So I started looking for some cheap copies and happened upon these.
I much prefer these to the Lita’s. They are almost identical, but I find the toe a little less clown-ish and a little more elegant. My husband says they are not shoes, they are plinths. haha!
So my final purchases are my favourites, jewellery from the fabulous Jewel Heritage. I’ve been itching to buy something from them for ages, and now I have two rings.
I got the classic Harbringer of Death ring £45
And the new The Lure ring which I totally fell for. It’s from the Don’t Bite the Apple Eve collection and was also £45.
So I’m all shopped out now… except perhaps I’m hankering a couple more bits of Jewel Heritage jewellery and perhaps those peace sign leggings I keep gazing at….
So, you have an idea of my kind of style now, if anyone has any shop suggestions, they’d be gratefully received because although I do love Topshop, it’s a bit on the pricey side….
