When I had my operation a month or so ago, a lovely PR sent me over a get well soon hamper and in it were a couple of Percy & Reed products. I didn’t know anything about the brand but my first impressions were fab because the packaging is just gorgeous!
Totally cute. But of course we all know you can’t judge a book by it’s cover so what of the contents?
The Volumising No Oil Oil is just amazing. It comes in two variants, for fine hair and for thick hair. I have the fine hair type. Which is good as I have fine hair. I have fine hair, but very much of it. Loads of it. Half an hour with a hair dryer to dry it loads of it. I am generally a huge fan of silicones in hair products (but not on my skin!) because they just help to keep my hair tamed and smooth where nothing else does. Ever. Until now. This stuff is amazing. Like most hair oil type products, a little goes a long way with only a drop or two recommended for your whole head. With the amount of hair I have, I find that about three small drops does it without giving me a greasy look. But of course, there’s no oil. and no silicones. I don’t really know how it does it, you just add the product to your towel dried hair, then style as usual. There’s pro-vitamin B5 and violet extract. I must just say at this point that I’m not 100% sure there are no silicones in this product, I’m making the assumption that there are none as it says “Keep it Natural ladies, easy on the silicone” on the box… so guess that at worst it’s not got much in there… I don’t have the box any more and I can’t find an ingredient list anywhere.
Either way, this is super light, you can use it on your roots without greasiness and it just tames the frizzies, flyaways, smooths and adds shine. Fabulous product. £14.
The other item I’ve been using regularly is the Totally TLC Hydrating Mask. Another wonder product. The smell is astoundingly lovely. It’s rich and creamy, easy to use, washes out well and leaves your hair so so soft and manageable. There’s scrummy coconut oil and marshmallow and all you have to do is work it through the hair, warp it and put on the enclosed shower cap, leave it on for 5-10 minutes then wash off. Hey Presto, Gorgeous hair. This is £20.
I’m just about to run out of shampoo and conditioner and I’ve been so impressed by these two products I’m going to invest in the shampoo and conditioners from the range. I just can’t decide between Moisturising, Really Rather Radiant Colour and Shine or Volumising… as all would be good!
The range is available from one of my favourite retailers, Beauty Bay.
