I’m an avid Ebayer. Have been for many years, I use it religiously to sell my stuff. Clothes the kids have grown out of, clothes I’ve gone off, shoes, handbags, you name it, if it’s lying around the house getting no love I’ll have it Ebay’d before you’ve blinked.
Nothing ever makes a huge amount of money, much less so than things used to when I started, but the money I make from selling kids clothes on there goes towards buying their new clothes when they need them and it’s very helpful. Plus, it buys my cosmetics. It’s fair to say that without selling stuff, there’d be less blog posts from me!
So when we moved house I packed up all my cd’s and dvd’s, of which there were hundreds, and I’ve never actually unpacked them…because that’s just not how I listen to movies or watch films any more. Times have changed, and if I want to listen to music I have MP3′s or I just go to You Tube and watch the vid and we have a fancy pants system on which we watch films, and neither my husband nor I am bothered about getting things as soon as they come out so we grab things when they are older and therefore cheaper and I watch a lot of stuff on my PC.
And so I’m left with a mahoosive box of things that have been in the garage for god knows how long and they’ve got to go.
I’d heard of musicMagpie but I’d never actually looked at the site before being contacted about this post and now I know exactly what I’m going to do with them. All you do is scan the barcodes with your webcam, the site gives you a purchase price, you send off your unwanted cd’s and then you get payment. Simples!
Even better though, as I was writing this post I looked at the site today and I see they not only take cd’s and dvd’s as I thought but your unwanted tech and electronics and clothes too…. could this be goodbye to Ebay for me? Well quite possibly yes, Ebay is very much a buyer’s market and there’s not a lot in it for sellers and I’ve been getting increasingly bothered by my transactions on there over the last year, I might just give this a go!
Has anyone tried musicMagpie, and how did it work out for you? Is it worth trying do you think?
