Do you ever return to an old favourite and wonder why on earth you ever stopped using it? I do that sometimes and today I figured this needed a post.
I originally reviewed this foundation a few years ago and I loved it. I can remember using every last drop of the foundation as well but I don’t know why I didn’t replace it. I think perhaps, as is often the way with us beauty product manics, there’s always something we want to try. You can find my original review here.
Still suffering with my skin I’ve been taking great care with my skin care but my thoughts turned to the make I’ve been using. I have favourite foundations that I really love, but they don’t all wear that well on spots (particularly those that have no head if you know what I mean, they can be a bit shiny and product can just slide straight them off). Not only that but I was wondering if there was something out there that might actively help to treat my spots when I have them, so somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered how much I loved the Anti Blemish Solutions foundation and decided to give it another whirl to see if it was as brilliant as I remembered. Clinique also sent me the Anti Blemish Solutions Concealer.
I’m not reviewing the concealer today because the shade (shade 2) wasn’t right for me at all, It’s on the left in the swatches above and although it looks close enough to the foundation, it actually is quite orange on my white skin so I’ve not been able to use it.
The foundation however is fantastic. From the very second you start applying it, it’s love. As it starts obliterating blemishes and creating that flawless finish.
It really is flawless too. This shade, Fresh Ivory, is perfect for my skin. The finish is immaculate and I feel it covers most of my blemishes with ease, and because it doesn’t feel slippery or overly moisturising it doesn’t feel like the wrong thing to put on my skin. It feels like just the type of formula you should be putting on your skin. It’s hard to describe. And while I’m trying to find the words to describe it you might think it sounds like a matte finish and it sort of is but not quite. Maybe more satin. It doesn’t rob the skin of absolutely all life.
Let’s have a look at it.
I can’t tell you how much I love this foundation. It eliminates redness, stays put all day, feels good for the skin, rather than too creamy and the finish is really great. Another issue I can get with foundations at my age is that although they apply like a dream, when I look in the mirror half an hour after application, they’ve settled into all my lines and wrinkles, this does not do that at all.
Seriously, this foundation is amazing. I can’t recommend it highly enough and whilst there are other foundations I also like, this is the one I love most of all. It’s dependable and brilliant. I could go on. But if you have spots or ever suffer spots. Get this. It won’t aggravate but it will treat and cover. Perfect.
It’s £24 and available from Clinique counters nationwide and www.clinique.co.uk.
